Venice Music Project welcomes you to enjoy a true Baroque Concert Experience
Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to be in the first audience to ever hear an opera by Antonio Vivaldi or one of his colleagues? Venice Music Project recreates that experience for you, offering you the opportunity to hear music that has been lost for over 200 years! Wandering through the streets of Venice and other historical cities, one gets lost in admiring the beautiful architecture of long-ago palaces, and feels captivated by the charm of those artistic artworks that dwell in churches and museums. Discovering them is like reliving past times, but occasionally, this emotion is conveyed to us where the eyes cannot reach. We hear melodies softly spread through the calli and canals of Venice that intrigue and overwhelm us. Music is Venice, and Venice is music. Their stories intertwine, and thanks to the invaluable archaeological and interpretative work of Venice Music Project, it is now possible to hear the incredible wealth of musical treasures from the Baroque period, in the incomparable setting of the Scuola Grande dei Carmini. Here, while closing our eyes, we can immerse ourselves in the world of Casanova, hearing this glorious music for the first time, in a historic space much like the ones it was written for. And don’t forget – this was the rock music of the time! Venice Music Project enters its 10th Anniversary Season as the leading nonprofit association in Italy for musical research, restoration, and performance. Just as other international nonprofits, restore art and architecture, we are deeply committed to restoring Venice’s music. In 2022, Venice Music Project embarked on a collaboration with the Scuola Grande dei Carmini. Before every concert, just by showing your ticket, you will have the opportunity to wander the rooms and visit the treasures of this historical place – like Tiepolo frescoes and richly carved paneling.
We will Ba-ROCK you!
